Winter Camp 2017

Date: 1st Feb 2017 Author: Scout Websites
Our intrepid Explorer Unit attended the Scout Associations Wintercamp 2017 at Gilwell Park between the 6th and 8th of January.

The advice to wrap up warm for the weekend was heeded however the cold was not the issue with it being fairly mild at 5 degrees! The main issue was the rain when we arrived on the Friday night and the constant mist and drizzle over the course of the weekend, this did not however dampen our spirits!

Eleven of us attended the event and we joined forces with five Explorers from the 41st ‘Turnips’ and three Explorers plus leaders from the 3rd Orpington. On offer was a packed programme of random events from the Airbag jump through to discos in the evening, fun fair plus simulators and everything in between.

Going by the smiles (and mud!) on everyone’s faces and the quietness in the minibus on the way home on Sunday a good time was had by all…here’s to next year!
